my process

The Visionaries is a creative artist management agency with offices in Los Angeles, New York and London. I was in charge of rebranding a content creation guide for their artists to follow.

To the right you can see the previous content creation guide. There are many aspects of the design that work well, but I chose a new color scheme to modernize the guide.

On The Visionaries website there are lots of bright and bold colors associated with the artists work. Because of this, I felt like a bold color scheme would be cohesive to the brand ideals.

When creating the layout I made sure to consider the client's wishes as well as accessibility standards. Initially, I wanted to use a simple black background for each page because of how eye-catching it was with the color scheme. However, I quickly realized that using a black background with pink and red text could make it difficult for those with color blindness to read. I also knew that the client enjoyed the alternating background colors of the original guide, so I chose to alternate between a black and white background so that I could incorporate the colors into the text.

Due to the content of the guide, there wasn't need for many illustrative aspects. I had created a few different patterns that we could add throughout the guide, but with the help from my creative director, it was ultimately decided that using sleek lines of color throughout would be the best way to keep the guide simple and bold.
